I am a dynamic, community-oriented professional who can't help but LOVE the people I serve. Life was very hard before law school as I navigated teen pregnancy, chronic homelessness, and domestic violence. While sitting on my bunk bed in a domestic violence shelter, I questioned all of my past decisions and how I could use the pain of so many lessons learned to serve a calling higher than myself.
That moment led to my work with teenagers at The Urban League of Broward County as a Youth Development Counselor, where I mentored middle and high school students to open their imaginations to possibilities outside the walls of inner-city poverty. With the help of my community, who saw endless possibilities in me, I ventured into law school with only a dream to serve people who needed a helping hand. During my time in law school, I served as a Guardian ad Litem for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida, where I advocated for children in foster care and child protective services.
After law school, I landed my first legal contract with Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where I rapidly demonstrated my love for advocacy and educating the public. During my time at Legal Aid, I built the most comprehensive self-help resource in the state of Georgia, expanding access to legal education, forms, and procedures addressing common challenges for working families who could not afford private legal representation.
In 2020, I brought all of my experiences to my own private practice and founded Law for Love in 2021. Since then, I have helped families in conflict avoid the cost, combat, and confusion of traditional litigation and have successfully advocated for children harmed by litigation in some of the nastiest private custody battles.
I've faced quite a bit of tragedy that pushed me into the forefront, which I wrote about in my first book, Trauma Transformation. I love Bible study, sharing hope, encouraging words, and hugs because we all need someone to lean on sometimes in this adventure called life.
